La Lettre Volée, bookshop & gallery is opening its doors to Montolieu. A is a special village in that, it has now been hosting the “Montolieu Village du Livre et des Arts Graphiques” association for the last 20 years, which is a vessel for the development of “graphic art” workshops, a Conservatory for the Arts and Fabrication of books, and a exceptional number of old and refurbished bookshops.

La Lettre Volée specializes in modern and contemporary literature, fine arts and crafts, and finally cookery and nature books.

With her library, Laure Cowen has found the perfect place for the trade which she has been preparing for for nearly 20 years : a former teacher of the history and techniques of bookshops at the Institut Universitaire de Technologie, she has also worked at the bookstore of the Vents du Sud in Aix-en-Provence. Having worked in publishing, a library, binding and proof reading, she is now launching her small business that will feature an assortment of new books, publisher discounts, used books and bibliophilia.

La Lettre Volée is also home to the exhibition and sale of photographs by Charles Cowen, photographer. Fauna, flora, architecture, people and artisans from the Aude region are some of many subjects chosen by Charles and displayed for all to see.
